Riley McLaren Electrical Contractors were formed in January 2000 by the merger of G.E Riley Electrical Contractors and McLaren Electrical Services.

Guy Riley was predominately an industrial/commercial contractor and Paul McLaren specialised in residential new-build developments. Together they recognised the positive impact their newly formed company would have within the industry to be able to carry out extensive industrial and commercial projects coupled with large residential projects under the banner of one company.

Riley McLaren soon found that their instincts proved right and after their successful entry into the local business community, they soon found themselves becoming the contractor of choice for many local and National building contractors. National housebuilder Crest Nicholson awarded Riley McLaren their prestigious “Sub-contractor of the Year” award for 2003, and a year later Riley McLaren were again recognised for their dedication as they recieved Crest Nicholsons coveted Customer Care of the year award for 2004.

Riley McLaren are now firmly established as the contractor of choice for many local and national building companies, and individual householders alike, Riley McLaren now employ in excess of 100 personnel and operate from a purpose built facility in Bedford.

Increases in workload and turnover each year has enabled Riley McLaren not only to expand but to re-invest resources into their very succesfull Riley McLaren Apprenticeship Program - ouRMAP. To date Riley McLaren has funded the training of 6 apprentices who have all made the succesfull transition from school leaver to electrician within the Riley McLaren organisation.
