Ascot Studios is a highly successful Contemporary Art Gallery based in Ribchester, in the heart of the Ribble Valley. Established in May 2005, the Organisation has the following aims:
- to develop and pursue all aspects of the Visual Arts, New Media and Music
- to nurture, develop and interact with artists locally, nationally and internationally
- to be a leading resource of high quality Contemporary Art
- to dispel preconceptions and inequalities within the Arts, whether that be geographical or financial
Part of the Ascot philosophy is to connect disparate visual artists with their audience and to facilitate the professional development of practising Contemporary Artists. New and exciting opportunities are being created for creative practitioners throughout the North West and the infrastructure & expertise is in place to build upon these successes.
Under shrewd management, Ascot Studios has been able to expand the growing network of artists & buyers and sustain their efforts to promote Contemporary Arts in the region and beyond. Thus far, all this has been achieved without funding from either the Arts Council or Local Authority.
The gallery is one the County's most exciting outlets for high quality Contemporary Art. There are regular exhibitions throughout the year from a wide range of British Artists.
The exhibition space is located within an Industrial North Light Building - an old textile mill. The original features of the mill have been incorporated into the space - such as the high ceilings & cast iron pillars, but it is the enormous amount of natural light that lends itself perfectly for the exhibition and production of large scale artwork.
There is always a wide selection of work on display to suit any home or business premises. The gallery opening hours are Monday to Saturday, 11am to 5pm, and everyone visiting Ascot Studios can expect a warm & friendly welcome.
