Established in 1865, JAMES HARE LTD were originally merchants and manufacturers of Woollens and Worsteds for the mens and ladies tailoring trade. Even in these early days it was clear that the founder of the company JAMES HARE himself recognised that good customer relations and reliable service backed up by constantly striving for higher standards of quality were the chief ingredients of building a successful business.
The company extended greatly in the earlier part of the 20th century establishing other areas of trading including a Silk Department but it was not until 1983 that the business commenced to specialise in silks creating one of the largest worldwide distributors of silk fabrics.
Today JAMES HARE SILKS remains a family business passionately committed to bringing new silk products to the trade and continuing to deliver a service of which JAMES HARE the founder would be proud.
