Jane Knapp has worked on a variety of major projects both as an interior design consultant and as an artist. Much of her work has involved the refurbishment and redecoration of historic buildings, encompassing large country houses, museums, churches and follies.

As well as being able to advise about colour and interior design, as a painter Jane Knapp's specialities are:

• Painting murals for walls or ceilings
  
• Wood-graining and marbling effects
  
• Designing and making oil cloths as flooring for museums and conservation projects
  
• Much of the inspiration for her lighting designs is drawn from her working background and the architecture, cultures and landscapes she has encountered on her travels through North Africa, the Mediterranean and India.
  

These rich and varied influences, fused with the age old arts of metalwork, have resulted in lights sympathetic with older properties and modern interiors.
