Hanover (Scotland) Housing Association provides and manages an imaginative range of specialist housing for older and frail older people, as well as for families.
We currently manage homes for more than 5,000 residents throughout Scotland, offering the choice of:
We've designed the range of housing choices to meet the different support needs of older people.
Our sheltered housing developments offer residents a daytime Sheltered Housing Manager, extra security features and an emergency alarm system.
Very sheltered housing caters for the frailer, older residents through the provision of meals, additional communal areas and 24-hour staffing.
For more active older people, we've developed amenity housing which provides residents with the security of the emergency alarm system but without a Sheltered Housing Manager.
While we mainly specialise in housing for older people, we also have a number of developments providing housing for families, often designed around a cul-de-sac or courtyards to provide a safer environment for children and pets.
All developments aim to meet the individual housing and support needs of people in a sensitive and dignified way, ensuring they are able to retain their independence, live within a local community, and enjoy as much privacy or company as they desire.
As well as managing our housing developments, we also own and operate the Hanover Telecare emergency alarm service for our own developments, for other housing associations, associated organisations and for individuals living in the wider community.
Hanover in Scotland was formed as an independent organisation Hanover (Scotland) Housing Association in 1979, 16 years after Hanover Housing Association was established in Egham, Surrey.
We are a non-profit making organisation, controlled by a Committee of Management whose members serve without remuneration. We're a registered charity under the Industrial and Provident Societies Act 1965 and registered as a housing association with Communities Scotland.
