Viridarium was set up in 2000, and is led by Douglas Coltart. Based upon his extensive experience Viridarium will undertake design commissions ranging from domestic garden design to the formulation of parkland regeneration plans.
Douglas has received several awards for design; these include two Royal Horticultural Society gold medals.
Douglas has been guest designer on the BBC’s ‘Beechgrove Garden’, with articles on radio and in magazines on related topics. His roof garden in Paisley, Scotland featured in the BBC series ‘ Small Town Gardens’ and within the book of the same title.
Douglas devised and lectures on Scotland’s only Nationally validated Garden Design Course, based in Ayr. Douglas also lectures throughout the country to organisations such as the NCCPG, RHS and Britain in Bloom, and judges at National events.
