Solarlux – A Success Story

It all started in 1983 in a small garage workshop with the idea that windows and doors could not only be turned, tilted and slid but also folded back and stacked away with the added benefit of saving space. The founders, of the company, Heinz-Theo Ebbert (???????1990) and Herbert Holtgreife, developed the prototype of the first folding facade which was the basis on which the company has grown to the now internationally acting enterprise and world-wide market leader for folding glass facades and balcony glazing. The number of employees has increased from an initial figure of 13 to 460 worldwide.

The continuous development of the original folding façades has formed the basis for all the main business divisions now which range from business entrances, balcony and pool glazing to wintergardens. The aluminium pro-files and the aluminium clad wood used for the frames have all been devel-oped and manufactured in-house and have test certificates from renowned national and international test laboratories (e.g. ift Rosenheim, Architectural Testing (USA), SHR (NL), etc.).

Solarlux is sought after by architects, house-building associations and private individuals when it comes to demanding glazing solutions as is shown by such examples as VIP lounge glazing in baseball stadiums in the USA, football stadiums in Germany or the glazing of façades and balconies of large residential projects.
